Grok Imagine Image Quality

The same model family as Grok Imagine Image with a resolution ladder bolted on, and the ladder is short enough to state completely: 4.5 credits at 1K, 6 at 2K. It defaults to 2K, deliberately: 2K output and the finer detail that comes with it are the entire reason to be on this model rather than the 2-credit one, so a 1K render here is usually a sign the cheaper model would have done.

Where the extra credits show is detail density and text. Lettering on a sign, a label on a product, fine repeating structure in fabric or foliage: these are the places the base model simplifies and this one holds. For a flat illustration or a soft-focus scene, the difference is much harder to see, and the base model is three times cheaper.

It shares the base model's editing behaviour exactly: one image in, edited by the prompt, at about half a credit per megapixel of input on top of the render. It shares the seven aspect ratios and the JPEG output too, so moving between the two costs no rework. Only the resolution dropdown appears.
